Course Overview
The Level 2 Pre Access course is specifically designed to prepare students for studying on the level 3 Access to Higher Education course.
The main emphasis of the course will be on developing study skills in English (communication) and Maths (numeracy). In addition to the core subjects you will have the opportunity to take further academic subjects such as Anatomy and Physiology, IT and Research / Study Skills. This will be advised by the tutor. Students will also receive support from a personal tutor.
**GCSEs in English or Maths may be taken alongside the Pre Access course, depending on previous qualification grades.
Once enrolled on this programme, learners will have the opportunity to enrol on English and Maths courses alongside the Pre-Access course.

The programme is assessed by tests, examinations, coursework which may include essays, seminar presentations, academic posters, short research papers and sometimes quizzes.
With a good performance from this course, you can progress to the Level 3 Access to HE Diploma in such areas as Health Care, Humanities and Social Sciences. These would then enable application to a university to study a degree course in the relevant subject or vocational area. These may include Nursing, Social Work, ODP.
