Course Overview
The Level 2 Diploma in Sound & Music Production provides an introduction to the technical and creative aspects of the sound and music production industries.
Throughout the course, you will learn about:
- Music Production, including mixing, remixing, and studio recording
- Live Sound Production
- Creation of audio for media products such as film/TV, podcasts, and games.
This vocational course will introduce you to key topics and skills through practical skills development. You'll then have the opportunity to apply these skills in a real-world scenario project.
Towards the end of the year, you will select a project that aligns with your ambitions, forming the basis of your final major project. Successful completion of this course will earn you the UAL Level 2 Diploma in Music Performance and Production.

Throughout the course, you will develop your understanding of the music industry and how to prepare effectively for employment in the field. Each skill-building unit is graded on a pass/fail basis.
At the end of each year, you will undertake a final major project unit, allowing you to specialise in a chosen area, which will determine your final overall grade. Assessment will include both portfolio & coursework, practical tasks, and participation in real-life vocational productions.
