Course Overview

Ready to take your first step into the exciting world of music, performing, and production? This course is designed to spark your creativity and build the essential skills you'll need to shine in the performing arts.

What You'll Learn
You'll gain a strong introduction to the skills, knowledge, and understanding that will boost your self-confidence and open your eyes to the incredible career opportunities within the creative industries. This course is perfect for anyone with an interest in music, performing, and production arts, helping you explore the methods and processes that bring performances to life.

Here’s a taste of what you’ll get up to:
*Develop essential acting, vocal, and movement skills for performance.
*Gain experience in backstage technical operations.
*Work with practicing professionals in the industry.
*Go on educational visits to support your learning.

You’ll develop your creativity and build the skills necessary for a successful introduction to all areas of the Creative Industries, preparing you for progression to Level 2.

Support for Your Success
Your literacy and numeracy development will be a core focus throughout the programme. You will have the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number. These qualifications will help support your progression to higher levels of learning.

You’ll also be assigned a Progress Coach who will support you every step of the way. They'll ensure any additional learning needs are in place before you start, and that any new support you might need is incorporated into your programme to help you succeed. This course is fully supported to meet individual needs and learning differences.
4 GCSEs at grade E/2 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language) and Maths.

All applicants will also undertake an entrance workshop, which they must attend and successfully complete.

For all learners who are looking to progress onto this L1 course from an entry programme you must have achieved your E3 qualification, progressed in Maths and English and hit all of the targets in your ILP.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
To gain the qualification, you need to successfully pass all six units. The final unit, the Music, Performing and Production Arts Project, allows you to show off everything you’ve learned. This project is graded Pass, Merit, or Distinction, which determines your overall qualification grade.
If you want to continue your studies and progress, you can move on to a Level 2 qualification in a similar subject, like Performing Arts or Music. These qualifications will also prepare you for employment in the exciting Creative Industries.
Some courses may require kit/uniform to be purchased. Please see attached kit list for further information.
