Ready to build a strong foundation for a rewarding career in engineering? This academic and practical course will help you gain essential skills across a variety of engineering disciplines. You'll develop key competencies in engineering measurements, calculations, and crucial health and safety practices.

This programme provides the essential theory and knowledge that underpins practical skills, ensuring you're well-prepared for your future in the industry.

This is a multi-discipline engineering programme that covers the necessary engineering skills and knowledge for students wanting to work in engineering. It specifically supports students aiming for an apprenticeship in the engineering maintenance and commissioning industry. You'll learn engineering techniques for production line maintenance, as well as how to shut down and reinstate machine systems to ensure efficient productivity.

What You'll Master
Students will study a number of specialist units that support this programme, including:
● Engineering Principles
● Working Effectively and Safely in Engineering Environments
● Principles of Maintenance and Installation and Commissioning
● Mechanical units
● Hydraulic units
● Electrical units

Boost Your Core Skills
You'll also develop vital literacy, numeracy, and digital literacy skills, essential for success in any engineering role.

Successful completion of a relevant, full time Intermediate/Enhanced/Level 2 Engineering programme (such as City and Guilds and EAL Mechanical and Electrical, or similar) and associated Essential Skills.

Learners are required to have a minimum of GCSE grade C/4 in English Language/Welsh (1st Language) and Maths.

Learners who have completed an Engineering level 2 and are working towards improving their GCSE will be considered for this programme. However, it is a mandatory requirement that all learners will work towards completing the GCSE at grade C/4 and above.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course .
You’ll demonstrate your progress through a combination of assignment work, practical tasks, and short answer internal and external examinations.

Your Essential Skills will also be continually assessed throughout the duration of the course.

This programme offers you the exciting opportunity to work in a multi-discipline area within engineering.

You could specialise in mechanical, hydraulic, maintenance, electrical, or design roles.

You’ll also be equipped to support the production industry’s maintenance engineering programmes opening doors to a wide range of career paths.

Some courses may require kit/uniform to be purchased. Please see attached kit list for further information.
