What You'll Learn
This Level 3 Diploma can be completed as a one-year Diploma or extended to a full two-year Extended Diploma. You'll gain the essential knowledge, skills, and understanding needed to progress to degree-level study and employment within the vibrant Performing Arts sector.
This stimulating and demanding qualification provides a supportive transition from general to more specialised study, allowing you to explore, develop, and test your creativity.
You'll develop skills through a variety of engaging activities across a wide range of performance disciplines, including:
- Dance
- Drama
- Singing
- Musical Theatre.
You'll also have exciting opportunities to work with practising professionals and participate in cultural and contextual activities through educational visits and masterclasses.
Your learning programme includes qualifications like the Welsh Baccalaureate, and we're committed to supporting your progression to employment or Higher Education. All courses at Coleg Cambria provide the opportunity to develop your English and Maths to Level 2 and, ideally, to GCSE Grade C/4 if you haven't already achieved this. This will significantly enhance your prospects in the job market and enable progression to Higher Education.
Upon successful completion of this course, you'll achieve the UAL Level 3 Diploma in Performing & Production Arts.

All applicants will also undertake an entrance workshop, which they must attend and successfully complete. Entrance workshops are scheduled for June and September, further information will be released during the application process.

To achieve the Diploma qualification (Year 1), you’ll successfully pass eight units. Unit 8, a collaborative performance project, allows you to showcase all the learning you’ve gained from the other units. This unit is graded Pass, Merit, or Distinction, determining your overall qualification grade.
To achieve the Extended Diploma qualification (Year 2), you’ll successfully pass 12 units, including units 1–8 of the Diploma, plus units 9–12. Unit 12, an extended project, allows you to demonstrate all the learning from the other units. This unit is graded Pass, Merit, or Distinction and determines your overall qualification grade, with both internal and external assessment.

This course equips you for employment in the Performing Arts Industries and prepares you for applications to university and nationally recognised Dance and Drama Schools for courses such as Acting, Dance, or Musical Theatre.
