Are you ready to build the skills you need for an independent future? This course is designed for you if you're looking to gain confidence, develop essential life skills, and work towards leading an independent life after college.

*Employability Skills: Prepare for the world of work.
*Work Experience: Gain valuable hands-on experience in areas that interest you, such as animal care, workshop skills, or community projects.
*Essential Skills: Improve your communication, numeracy, and digital skills.
Every activity on this course is designed to support your unique goals and help you progress towards your intended destination.

*Individual Learning Plan (ILP): You'll have a personalised plan with your goals and targets, and your personal tutor will provide regular one-to-one support to review your progress.
*Progress Coach: A dedicated Progress Coach will meet with you regularly to offer pastoral support.
*Personalised Timetable: Your timetable will be tailored to your specific targets, helping you progress towards your long-term goals.
*Person-Centred Reviews: You'll take part in reviews to see the progress you've made and decide on your next steps.

Most learners will be working towards Entry 2 or 3.
This course is intended for applicants with complex, moderate learning difficulties and/or social, emotional and behavioural difficulties.
All applications are considered on an individual basis and offers are based on interview and a range of supporting evidence including prior achievements and a support needs assessment.
We ask all applicants to attend a taster session as part of the application process to establish their suitability, potential and additional support needs.
Learners suited to this course will have an Education plan (IDP or Education Health Care Plan) which details their additional learning needs. All plans are reviewed by our Inclusion Panel prior to acceptance on programme.
Applications for ILS programmes need to be submitted by the end of April so that we can offer learners a thorough and extensive transition into college.

Each learner has an Individual Learning Plan (ILP) that records their personalised goals and targets. Students receive regular 1:1 support from their personal tutor to review their progress. Individualised targets ensure progress toward Long Term destinations.
All learners are supported by a Progress Coach who will meet with learners regularly to support them with their pastoral needs and acts as an advocate for learners.

The main goal of this course is to help you achieve independent living. Many learners will move on to live independently, though some may continue to need support. You may also choose to continue your learning journey on Pathway 4, explore supported internships, or other further education programmes.
