Course Overview

Are you a school leaver with social communication needs, such as Autism, and passionate about media, digital art, or computers? Our NeuroMedia course at Coleg Cambria's Deeside campus is designed especially for you!
This fully supported, inclusive one-year programme provides a learning environment that truly understands and meets your needs, helping you achieve your future goals.

What You'll Learn
This course is all about helping you explore the exciting world of media while developing essential skills for your future.

*Media Exploration: You'll be introduced to core media subjects, giving you a taste of different areas to help you decide your next steps.
*Life Skills for Success: A key part of this programme focuses on practical life skills, including employability, health and wellbeing, community engagement, and independent living.
*Real-World Experience: You'll get to experience group industrial tasters, helping you develop your communication and social skills in a real work environment.
*Essential Skills: You'll complete Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Maths and English at your own working level.

Your Learning Environment
We believe in personalised support and a comfortable learning space:
*This is a fully supported programme tailored to you.
*You'll benefit from a personalised transition with an ASD mentor.
*You'll be based in college three days a week.
*Our bespoke classrooms have a maximum of 10 learners, ensuring focused support.
There are no formal entry requirements, although users are expected to be interested in the subject area and have a current Individual Development Plan or Education, Health and Care Plan which outlines a complex social communication difficulty with a diagnosis of Autism.
Your progress will be monitored through ongoing tasks and tutor feedback. We’ll also use baseline assessments and review your individualised targets to make sure you’re on track.
Upon successful completion of this course, you’ll be well-prepared to progress to mainstream further education courses, move into employment, or begin a supported internship in your chosen sector.
Some courses may require kit/uniform to be purchased. Please see attached kit list for further information.
