Ready to turn your passion for animals into a rewarding career? Our Level 2 Certificate in Animal Nursing Assistants will equip you with the essential skills and knowledge to thrive in the veterinary care industry.
What You’ll Learn
This comprehensive course provides a strong understanding of the veterinary care industry and develops your practical competence and customer service skills, preparing you for employment in this vital sector. You’ll gain hands-on experience caring for a wide range of animals at our excellent Animal Care Centre, which is home to over a hundred species, including rabbits, pigs, snakes, lizards, and rodents.
You’ll develop skills and understanding in:
*Handling and restraining animals in a veterinary environment
*Caring for animals in a veterinary environment
*Basic principles of nursing and infection control
*Animal anatomy and physiology
*Performing administrative duties and customer care in a veterinary setting
We make learning as engaging as possible, using a variety of methods including lectures, individual and group work, and around 25% practical work. You'll also use modern learning technology to enhance your studies.
English and Maths are an integral part of the programme, and we'll support you in improving your literacy and numeracy skills and gaining qualifications.

Please note: If you wish to progress onto a Level 3 Veterinary Nursing qualification and register as a Trainee Veterinary Nurse, you will need to meet the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) criteria.
