The aim of this programme is to provide a work-related, competence-based qualification. It reflects the skills and knowledge needed to effectively do a job within the animal care industry, and shows that a learner is competent in this area of work. The Zoos and Wildlife Establishments route is suitable for most learners in a zoo or other wildlife establishment setting. However, other pathways are available, including Animal Care and Welfare, Dog Grooming, Pet Care and Retail, Animal Training and Service Dog Handling.

Provide opportunities for animals to have freedom to exercise
Train animals through basic training programmes
