Course Overview
Students will study Engineering Principles, Working Effectively and Safely in Engineering Environments, the Principles of Maintenance and Installation and Commissioning. There are a number of specialist units such as Mechanical, Hydraulic and Electrical units which support this programme.
This is a multi-discipline Engineering programme which covers the necessary Engineering skills and knowledge for students wanting to work in Engineering. It supports students wanting to gain an apprenticeship in the Engineering Maintenance and Commissioning Industry. Students will learn Engineering Techniques for production line maintenance, shut down and reinstating machines systems to ensure efficient productivity.

A combination of assignment work, practical tasks and short answer internal and external examinations.
A recognised level 2 Engineering programme, such as City and Guilds and EAL Mechanical and Electrical, or similar. Students should have a minimum of GCSE grade C/4 in English Language/Welsh (1st Language) and Mathematics.
Students who have completed an Engineering level 2 and working towards improving their GCSE will be considered for this programme. However, it is a mandatory requirement that all learners will work towards completing the GCSE at grade C/4 and above.

For those wanting to work in engineering, it provides the opportunity to work in a multi-discipline area, such as Mechanical, Hydraulic, Maintenance, Electrical, Design including supporting the production industry’s Maintenance Engineering programmes.
