Course Overview
This Kubota Apprenticeship Scheme is a partnership between Kubota, a world-leading manufacturer of agricultural machinery, and agricultural engineering education specialists Coleg Cambria Llysfasi. This industry approved training is designed to allow young groundcare engineers to progress into positions within Kubota groundcare dealerships across the UK.

This qualification covers all of the skills, knowledge and understanding required in the groundcare engineering industry. You will study a wide range of areas that include health and safety, calculations for service engineering and workshop processes. You will learn how to repair a range of turf and groundcare equipment, hydrostatic drives, vehicle systems, electric systems and hydraulic systems, test electronic systems and transmission systems. In addition you will learn how to offer the best customer service to clients and suppliers.

The Kubota apprenticeship is an opportunity to “earn while you learn”. By successfully participating in a Kubota apprenticeship, you will achieve an industry approved qualification at the same time as gaining fantastic hands-on practical skills through a manufacturer backed scheme and earning a wage.

The course is taught mainly through practical sessions in our sector leading workshop using the latest range of groundcare equipment. Classroom delivery is enhanced through a range of trips, visits and guest speakers. You will learn using a variety of methods, including theory sessions, individual and group work and practical tasks.

The course includes Manufacturer product Training by the Kubota training school.
In addition, you will also have the opportunity to undertake external assessments to gain certificates of competence. .

Assessment will take place continuously throughout the course, in the form of assignments, practical observations, small tests, examinations and synoptic assessments.

5 GCSE’s at A*-C including Maths and English Language or Welsh (1st Language) and to be working for a Kubota dealer as a trainee service engineer. Prior experience may be considered for older learners. This will be discussed at the interview.


Employment into positions within Kubota’s dealerships across the UK.
Groundcare engineer, Field Service Engineer, Workshop Technician, Marketing and sales.

There is no fee for the course but you will need the equipment listed below. There may be additional costs for some visits and trips.
