With over a decade of experience in lecturing, Pete is a highly respected educator in the field of health and safety, specialising in the Environmental Sustainability, IOSH and NEBOSH Health and Safety suite of courses up to Level 6. His unique background and expertise make him a dynamic instructor who brings both theoretical knowledge and practical experience to the classroom.
Prior to becoming an educator at Cambria in 2014, Pete served 15 years in the Royal Marines Commandos as an Assault Engineer. In this role, he provided crucial engineering support to frontline military operations in high-risk environments around the globe. This extensive experience not only honed his skills in risk management and safety protocols but also instilled a strong sense of discipline and resilience—qualities that he now imparts to his students.
Committed to remaining at the forefront of health and safety education, Pete continuously updates his knowledge of industry standards and best practices. He strives to create an engaging learning environment that encourages students to apply their knowledge in real-world scenarios, preparing them for successful careers in health and safety.
Pete is passionate about empowering the next generation of safety professionals and fostering a culture of safety awareness. Through his dedication and expertise, Pete not only shapes aspiring health and safety leaders but also contributes to the broader mission of enhancing workplace safety across various industries.
Julia started her career in the retail travel industry as a sales consultant and was then promoted to management at the age of 21.Â
While having her two children Julia finished her degree then decided to get into teaching and studied a PGCE.
She joined Coleg Cambria in 1999 as a lecturer in Further Education, then progressed to a management role managing 26 staff in three curriculum areas across two sites.
Julia is extremely passionate about leadership and management and the monumental role first line operational management has on getting the best out of people in the workplace. She enjoys sharing her knowledge of managing both in the private and public sector, and developing both existing managers and managers of the future.

Elizabeth Roberts joined Coleg Cambria in 2024, bringing with her over 27 years of extensive industry experience in accounting, financial management, and business leadership. She teaches a range of qualifications, including the AAT Level 2 Certificate in Accounting, the AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting, and the Finance module on the Applied Business Management BSc programme.
Elizabeth is a qualified Chartered Accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). Her professional background includes two decades working in accountancy practice, specialising in financial reporting, auditing, and taxation services for a wide range of clients. Building on this foundation, she went on to serve as Financial Director for a group of retail companies, where she led strategic financial planning, management reporting, and corporate governance over a seven-year period.
With her combined experience in practice and industry, Elizabeth brings real-world insight and expertise into the classroom, preparing students with both the technical skills and the practical knowledge needed for successful careers in accounting and financial management.
Ant joined Coleg Cambria in 2022 as a lecturer for Level 3 ILM courses and Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring, over his career he has worked in various educational institutions in a wide range of roles up to and including CEO!Â
In addition to working at Cambria Ant has his own coaching and mentoring business working across a variety of sectors domestically and internationally.
In his spare time he researches for his doctorate in professional studies and finds time for walking and open water swimming.
Susan Hughes joined Coleg Cambria in 2024 as a lecturer delivering CIPD Level 5 and International HR Management within the Applied Business Management Programme. She teaches across a range of subjects, including CIPD Level 3, Coaching and Mentoring, bespoke corporate programmes, and one-day courses.

With extensive industry experience, Susan began her career in the travel sector with American Express before progressing to senior regional roles with ABTA. She later transitioned into the public sector, holding various people-focused positions, culminating in nine years as Director of HR and OD for a housing provider. Before entering education, Susan ran her own consultancy, supporting businesses with HR services and executive coaching.

A Chartered CIPD member, qualified Executive Coach, and Action Learning facilitator, Susan is passionate about developing future people professionals. Outside work, she enjoys horse riding, open water swimming, travel, and spending time with her family, friends, and animals.
Amy Griffiths joined Coleg Cambria in 2023 and teaches PRINCE2 Foundation & Practitioner courses, as well as modules on the FdSc and BSc Applied Business Management degree, specialising in Project Management. With over a decade of experience in the financial services sector, Amy is a Chartered Project Professional (APM) and PRINCE2-certified Senior Project Manager.

Her career began as a Business Analyst before progressing into Change Delivery and eventually senior project leadership, where she successfully managed complex global programmes. Amy is also an expert in agile and IT project delivery, and holds a BSc in Project Management.

She is passionate about continuous learning, operational excellence, and supporting the next generation of project professionals. Amy brings project management to life through real-world examples, empowering learners to thrive in dynamic business environments. Her energy, innovation, and deep understanding of project frameworks create an engaging and practical learning experience.
Sue McCrossan has been teaching at Coleg Cambria since 2002, delivering ILM qualifications from Levels 2 to 5 in Leadership and Management, alongside bitesize and bespoke courses. She also teaches degree-level modules at Levels 5 and 6, supporting the development of emerging leaders across a range of industries.
Before transitioning into education, Sue gained extensive experience in retail, customer service, finance, and insurance. She held various management roles, including team leader, team manager, and department manager, giving her a strong foundation in people management and operational leadership.
Sue is a passionate advocate for lifelong learning and enjoys being a student as much as a teacher. She is currently working on a thesis exploring compassionate leadership in the healthcare sector. Her practical experience, academic insight, and commitment to developing others make her a valued and inspiring educator who brings both credibility and care to the classroom.
Jayne Headon brings over three decades of leadership experience spanning the armed forces, private enterprise, public services, and the voluntary sector. Her career began in 1986 in the military, where she developed core leadership and discipline that have underpinned her diverse professional journey. Jayne has held a range of senior roles, including Operational Manager, General Manager, Project Manager, Centre Manager, and Acting CEO, across sectors such as education, healthcare, and training provision.
Her broad expertise includes leading multi-functional teams, driving organisational change, and overseeing large-scale operations, both in the UK and internationally. With experience in further education and private training environments, she has also taught and assessed qualifications from Child Development to Leadership and Management.
Jayne’s industry background informs her role as Curriculum Lead for ILM and Programme Lead for the Applied Business Management degree, where she uses her practical insight to prepare students for leadership roles in complex, fast-evolving business environments.
Kate brings over two decades of global experience in Operations and Project Management within the Market Research industry. Her career began in Japan, teaching through the Japan English Programme, before transitioning into leadership roles managing teams across Argentina, the US, Portugal, India, Japan, Hong Kong, and South Africa. She has led initiatives in business operations, client strategy, technology implementation, and process improvement. A certified Black Belt in Process Improvement, qualified coach, NLP and timeline practitioner, and facilitator, Kate combines practical knowledge with theory to engage and inspire learners.
A passionate advocate for lifelong learning and diversity, she champions environments that empower individuals to thrive professionally and personally. Kate also promotes ERGs to harness diverse thinking. Outside of Coleg Cambria, she coaches teams through change and disruption, writes children’s and self-help books, and enjoys cold-water swimming, walking, and laughter-filled time with loved ones. She is also a Toastmasters member and TEDx speaker.
With over 25 years of experience in education and a deep-rooted passion for health and safety, Steve is a distinguished lecturer and expert in the NEBOSH Health and Safety suite of courses, up to Level 6. Renowned for his engaging teaching style and extensive industry knowledge, Steve has dedicated his career to empowering the next generation of health and safety professionals.

Steve has gained his industrial experience within the chemical manufacturing sector. This allows him to bring real-world insights into the classroom, bridging the gap between theory and practice so that students receive a comprehensive education.

Committed to staying at the forefront of industry developments, Steve continuously updates his knowledge and skills, ensuring that students benefit from the latest best practices and regulatory changes. He is not only a knowledgeable instructor but also a mentor who inspires students to excel in their careers and prioritise safety in all aspects of their work.
Jeanette joined the college in 1997 and has taught on a number of professional business related courses.
Prior to joining the college, Jeanette worked in the food manufacturing industry in roles including quality assurance, learning and development and later becoming part of a team of in-house trainers and assessors.
Outside of work Jeanette volunteered with Girlguiding which helped her develop skills in inclusivity, leadership, planning and resilience.
As well as achieving her PGCE and PGCTHE, Jeanette is CIPD qualified meaning she has an understanding of the fundamental principles, theories, and best practices across various HR and Learning & Development areas. Undertaking these and other qualifications has helped her develop skills to analyse complex issues, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions based on evidence and best practices.
Debbie Meredith has been teaching AAT qualifications at Coleg Cambria since 2009, delivering the Level 2 Certificate, Level 3 Advanced Diploma, and Level 4 Professional Diploma in Accounting. Her teaching is deeply rooted in real-world experience gained from running her own business and working in the financial sector.
Debbie began her career managing a public house for four and a half years, where she handled all aspects of the business’s finances. This hands-on experience sparked a passion for accounting, leading her to retrain at Coleg Cambria: Yale, where she studied AAT. After completing Level 3, she launched and successfully ran her own bookkeeping business while continuing her studies through Level 4.
Her practical background allows her to bring accounting theory to life in the classroom, helping learners understand its application in real business settings. Outside of work, Debbie enjoys staying active, walking her two dogs with her husband, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
