As your young person heads off to college for the first time, both of your lives are going to change, as are the ways they’re going to need you. The main thing is they’ll still need you. We at Coleg Cambria are going to be supporting your young person to gain the right skills and qualifications to prepare them for life after college, but it’s you they’ll turn to in order to support their personal growth, independence and stability.
Learning to navigate this new part of their life can be scary and challenging, for you as well as them, which is why we’re here to support both you and your young person.
At Coleg Cambria, your young person will be encouraged to reach their full potential, increasing their confidence and providing them with real experiences to ensure they are ready for their next step when they leave.
Students study in excellent facilities, using the latest technology and are taught by expert staff, who will give them the tools they need for either higher education, an apprenticeship or a great career.
Each student will also be supported by a progress coach delivering our MADE programme Maximising Achievement and Developing Everyone to ensure they stay on track to succeed through regular group coaching sessions and one-to-one tutorials.
Our relationship with students includes you as their parent or guardian, so feel free to email student services if you have any concerns or queries relating to your young person’s progress in college. We’ll also regularly communicate with you via reports and parent’s evenings to inform you of their progress.
We also want to hear your views on your young person’s experience at Cambria. To capture this vital information, we contact parents through our annual Parent Survey each year.
A very warm welcome to Coleg Cambria! Here, you’ll discover excellent facilities, cutting-edge technology, and inspiring specialist staff dedicated to your success. We are recognised for our innovation and best practice that actively encourages every learner through our deeply inclusive approach, to study in an environment where you are supported to be the very best you can be.
We understand that moving from a smaller school to a larger college might feel a little daunting, but rest assured, we’ll be with you every step of the way. We take immense pride not only in our high-quality classroom teaching and dedicated in-class support but also in the exceptional pastoral care provided by your personal Progress Coach, ensuring you thrive throughout your programme.
Beyond the classroom, we’ve significantly expanded our wrap-around support to help you achieve your goals. This includes tailored support for your individual needs from our dedicated health and wellbeing team and resilience coaches. Embracing positive behaviours, inclusivity, and mutual respect are fundamental to our college community, and we actively promote these values in everything we do. You’ll also have access to a wide array of free sports and wellbeing activities through our Active Cambria programme, as well as numerous opportunities to participate in diverse clubs and have your voice heard through Student Voice initiatives.
To help you start each day strong and stay focused, all our students can enjoy a free breakfast from our main college canteens across all sites!
Our ultimate aim is to equip you with the essential skills and qualifications that will prepare you for a successful future after college, whether your aspirations lie in university studies, apprenticeships, or launching a fulfilling career. We are here to support you in building not only your academic achievements but also the positive behaviours and respect that will serve you well in all aspects of life.

Our Prevent Strategy lays out our approach and our responsibilities. It’s focused on education, respect and providing a safe place for our students to discuss issues, ask questions and share their views and aims to help people how to protect themselves.

We have a welcoming and homely childcare centre at Cambria, Toybox at Deeside. We can offer you financial assistance if you need it. Read about the nursery and what they can offer you and your child below.
Here at Toybox Nursery, we want to make sure that both you and your child are coming to an environment that’s warm and friendly, which is why we’re proud to say we offer the best childcare in the most beautiful setting.
We provide ‘educare’ for children aged 3 months to five years, with a healthy mixture of learning and play. Our curriculum is built around areas to support and encourage your child’s personal, social, emotional, physical and intellectual wellbeing and development.
Each area within the nursery has a curriculum to follow, which includes personal and social development, language and literacy, mathematics, physical and creative development.
We have five rooms for five different age groups. The caterpillar room is for children 0-12 months. It’s full of conventional toys and holistic activities such as treasure baskets, bubbles, music and water play to encourage the babies to explore and enjoy their surroundings indoors and outdoors.
Our ladybird room is for children aged 12-18 months. There they’re encouraged to become more mobile through soft play, push along toys and more.
The children in the butterfly room (aged 18 months – 2½ years) are encouraged to communicate, play together and to find their voice together with shared activities such as baking and sand play.
In the bumblebee room, children aged 2½ – 3 years are given a wide range of learning opportunities through sand, malleable play, books, block play, exploratory play, role play and movement.
The children in the grasshopper room (3-5 years) follow Foundation learning, which allows your children to be creative, imaginative and to have fun whilst learning. This gives children skills to build on and develop ready for school.
