Are you fascinated by media – from photography and film to animation, graphics, and game design? If you're eager to develop your creative media skills but have little prior experience, this course is your perfect starting point!

Our Creative Media Diploma is a dynamic, practice-based programme designed to challenge and develop the skills you'll need for a successful future in media.

What You'll Learn
You'll gain a strong understanding of the media industry and develop multiple practical skills. Kick things off with an initial "Boot Camp" before diving into 7 core units. Then, you'll specialise in an area that truly excites you, choosing from a wide range of disciplines including:

- Filmmaking
- Video editing
- Scriptwriting
- Content creation
- Animation
- Photography
- Games design
- Digital illustration
- Graphic design
- Digital print media
- Podcast production.

You'll create engaging media for diverse audiences across multiple platforms, utilising our industry-standard facilities. Get hands-on in our green screen room, film studio, photography studio, animation area, and podcasting suite. You'll also work in our Mac-based studios, mastering software like Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and Logic Pro.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language) and Maths or Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy.

How you will be assessed

This is a coursework-based qualification, so there are no formal exams. You’ll be assessed throughout the year against clear criteria provided to you before each unit.

Your future career path

Upon successful completion, you’ll achieve the UAL Level 2 Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology. This qualification will equip you to progress onto our Level 3 Media Production course or secure an entry-level job in the exciting media industry.
