Course Overview
The Level 2 Award in Photography Skills provides the opportunity to explore the fundamentals of photography in a vocational & project-based manner. The course will develop skills in understanding the contexts and approaches to photography, and the characteristics and controls for camera systems. The second unit will allow you to develop research and practical photography skills in the production of a photography portfolio.
Typically you will need 4 or more GCSEs at A*-D, or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification.
The course consists of two units that will be assessed on a pass/fail basis. All of the assessments will require you to generate a portfolio which will evidence research, practical and evaluative skills. You will be assessed on your portfolio and practical performance and will undertake real-life vocational productions for both units
This course can lead directly to a range of photography careers in weddings and events, photojournalism, fashion, commercial and real estate, portrait and travel.
