Course Overview

This course is designed to help you develop the skills and knowledge you need for a career in this fast-growing industry. You'll dive into the world of esports, learning about everything from event planning and marketing to coaching, game strategy, and video production.

You'll also get hands-on experience using a variety of software applications and see how IT is used in the industry.

Literacy and numeracy development will be a core focus for all learners on programme with each learner having the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number.

Your success is our priority. You'll be assigned a dedicated Progress Coach who will be there to support you every step of the way. They will make sure any additional learning needs (ALN) are in place before you start and will help incorporate any new support you might need throughout your programme. We are fully committed to providing the support you need to thrive.
4 GCSEs at grade E/2 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language) and Maths.

For all learners who are looking to progress onto this Level 1 course from an Entry programme you must have achieved your E3 qualification, progressed in English and Maths and hit all the targets in your ILP.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
While gaming is a part of the course, it’s only a small portion of your assessed work, so you’ll be focusing on a wide range of skills. You won’t have any formal exams, as all of your work will be assignment-based, including observations, practical tasks, and written work.
Completing this course will open doors to a variety of career paths. We’ll support you throughout the year to plan your next steps, whether that’s moving on to a Level 2 Esports course, a different vocational course, an apprenticeship, or heading straight into employment.
Some courses may require kit/uniform to be purchased. Please see attached kit list for further information.
