Course Overview

Are you ready to take your first step into the exciting world of hair? This course is perfect for anyone looking for an introduction to the hair sector, helping you gain the skills and confidence you need to succeed.

What You'll Learn:
You'll develop essential hairdressing skills and important employability skills that will help you progress in the industry. Get ready to dive into practical workshops to hone your techniques, alongside classroom-based theory to build your knowledge.

This course covers:
*Developing hairdressing techniques in practical workshops
*Building essential knowledge through classroom theory
*Improving your literacy and numeracy skills.

Literacy and numeracy are a core focus of this programme. You will have the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number. These qualifications will help support your progression to higher levels of learning.

We're here to support you every step of the way! You'll be assigned a Progress Coach who will guide you throughout your time on the programme. They'll make sure any support you need is in place before you start, and will adapt your programme if new needs arise, helping you achieve your goals. This course is fully supported to meet your individual needs and learning differences.
4 GCSEs at Grade E/2 or above including Maths and English Language/ Welsh (1st Language).

For all learners who are looking to progress onto this Level 1 course from an Entry course you must have achieved your E3 qualification, progressed in Maths and English and hit all of the targets in your ILP.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.

You’ll achieve your qualification by completing coursework assessed internally. This could include exciting tasks like projects, creating leaflets, or written assignments.
Open doors to exciting opportunities in the hair industry! Upon completion, you’ll be equipped to pursue roles in hairdressing, progress to a Level 2 course, or even consider an apprenticeship or full-time employment.
Some courses may require kit/uniform to be purchased. Please see attached kit list for further information.
