Course Overview

Ready to build a strong future? This course is your perfect first step into the construction industry, with a focus on carpentry and joinery. You'll gain the essential skills and knowledge to become a skilled Carpenter or Joiner.

What You'll Learn:
This course is designed to help you develop confidence, knowledge, and practical skills in carpentry and joinery. You'll get hands-on experience in our workshops and gain important theoretical knowledge in the classroom.

*Working in Construction
*Environmental awareness in construction
*Access equipment in construction
*Residential dwellings in construction
*Power tools
*Carpentry hand skills
*Site carpentry skills

You will have the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number. These qualifications will help support your progression to higher levels of learning.

Your Journey to Success:
Throughout your course, you'll be supported by a Progress Coach who will help you every step of the way. They'll make sure any learning support you need is in place, helping you to succeed. This course is fully supported to meet your individual needs and learning differences.
4 GCSEs at grade E/2 or above including Maths and English Language or Welsh (1st Language).

For all learners who are looking to progress onto this L1 course from an Entry programme, you must have achieved your main qualification, progressed in Maths and English and hit all of the targets in your ILP.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
