* Hands-on Learning: Prepare for real-world challenges with activities like fitness testing and mandatory units such as "Citizenship, Society and the Public Services" and "Crime and its Effects on Society and Individuals".
*Tailored Development: Choose from optional units that pique your interest, including "Preparing to Respond to Emergency Incidents," "Health, Fitness and Lifestyle," and a "Multi-day Expedition Experience".
* Community Engagement: Beyond the classroom, you'll actively participate in community engagement activities and work towards achieving your Duke of Edinburgh Award.
* Academic Support: Need to boost your English Language or Maths GCSEs? We offer re-sit opportunities. If you've already got them covered, we'll provide extension activities to further enhance your literacy and numeracy skills.
* Immersive Opportunities: Benefit from exciting outdoor expeditions and insightful visits to various public service establishments (subject to availability). You'll also gain valuable perspectives from personnel across a range of uniformed public services.
4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language) or Successful completion of a relevant Level 1 programme which must include achievement of numeracy and literacy.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.

Your progress will be continuously assessed through a variety of engaging methods, including examinations, written assignments, oral presentations, practical activities, and other work-related experiences. You can achieve a Pass, Merit, or Distinction, reflecting your dedication and progress.
This diploma provides an excellent foundation for a variety of exciting career paths:

– Apprenticeships: Ideal for progression into apprenticeships with the Armed Services
– Further Study: Achieve an overall Merit grade, along with GCSE English and Maths Grade C/4, and you could progress to the NCFE Level 3 Diploma for Entry to the Uniformed Protective Services (601/8792/X).

Direct Entry: This course is particularly beneficial if you aspire to join the:
– British Army, Royal Navy, or Royal Air Force
– Emergency Services: Police, Fire, or Ambulance Service
– Prison Service or Border Agency.
