Course Overview
This qualification is designed to give learners the underpinning knowledge, skills and competencies to use counselling skills ethically and safely in a variety of contexts and roles.
On this course you will study topics including:
Listening skills
Establishing boundaries
Self awareness
Ethical practice
Reflective practice
This qualification is for:
• Those who have successfully achieved the CPCAB in Counselling Skills level 2.
• Those who want to develop counselling skills.
• Those who want to improve their professional and personal relationships as part of personal development.

Learners will need to complete the level 2 Award in Introduction to Counselling Skills and the ability to complete written assignments is essential. Applicants must be 18 or over.

A grading scale of pass only. Learning outcomes are assessed through portfolio work and observation. There will also be an externally marked controlled assessment.
This course can provide additional skills for those already in employment and may lead to increased opportunities for promotion and advancement. You may have the opportunity to continue with a career in counselling through progression on to a level 3 counselling course, however, in order to practice counselling, you will need to have achieved a level 4 qualification.
