Course Overview

Are you ready to make a real difference in people's lives and embark on a rewarding career in healthcare? This one-year, full-time Access to Higher Education Diploma is designed to prepare you for university study, opening doors to exciting opportunities in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, and other allied health professions.

What You'll Learn
The diploma aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills needed for university-level study and includes a variety of engaging subjects and essential core skills. You may explore modules such as:
* Understanding key healthcare subjects: Explore fascinating areas like Anatomy & Physiology, Sociology, Psychology, and Health.
* Building essential core skills: Enhance your communication and study skills, vital for success at university and beyond.

You'll also develop crucial core skills, including:
* Communication
* Study Skills
* Numeracy
Your tutor will guide you on the specific modules relevant to your learning journey.
GCSE grade C/4 in English/ Welsh (1st Language) or Maths, with at least grade D/3 in the other subject.
Or
Level 2 AON or Communication, with at least Level 1 in the other subject.

Experience in a suitable Health Care setting is preferred. Applicants should be 19+ to study this course.

Learners should be committed to a level 3 full time programme and developing their ability to study. IT skills are essential as a substantial part of the course is delivered on-line.

Prospective applicants are encouraged to contact individual universities for information about entry requirements. Many Nursing degree courses ask for GCSEs at C/4 or above in Maths and English.

You’ll be assessed continuously throughout the programme, primarily through assignments. You’ll also gain experience with timed tests and examination situations.

* Credit-based learning: You’ll achieve credits upon the satisfactory completion of each unit of study.
* Your qualification: To be awarded the Access to HE Diploma, you’ll need to achieve 60 credits, including a number of mandatory credits. Your Level 3 credits will be graded as Pass, Merit, or Distinction.
* Upon successful completion, you’ll be awarded the Agored Cymru ‘QAA-recognised’ Access to H.E. Diploma.



This qualification is your pathway to a rewarding career in the care sector! You’ll be prepared to progress to degree courses in areas such as:
