Course Overview
Introduction to Graphic Design with Photoshop and Canva is a comprehensive course tailored for budding artists, photographers, and designers who aim to harness the power of industry-standard technology and intuitive design tools to bring their creative visions to life. This 6-hour course offers a dual-platform learning experience with Photoshop Creative Cloud and Canva.

During the 6 hour course you will cover the following via PC delivery:

● Establishing effective directory structures for file storage
● Creating new canvases for various projects (e.g., logos, web banners) in both Photoshop and Canva
● Mastering the fundamentals of saving work in formats like .psd and .eps in Photoshop, and appropriate formats in Canva
● Exploring the basics of layer creation and management in both platforms
● Utilising essential tools in Photoshop and Canva, including toolbox features, tool options, and panel menus
● Incorporating design elements such as background colours, text formatting, the use of the eye dropper, cloning, blending (overlay), and cropping in your projects
● Understanding copyright considerations and open-source licensing (e.g., GNU Public License)
● Loading and manipulating vector graphics and external file graphics in Photoshop and seamlessly integrating them with Canva designs
● Applying filters, layer masking, and layer styles (FX) in Photoshop while exploring parallel functionalities in Canva
● Crafting a professional logo and a marketing flyer, utilising the combined capabilities of Photoshop and Canva
● Working with AI tools

This course is designed to provide a balanced introduction to the realms of Photoshop and Canva, empowering you with the skills to create visually stunning and professional-grade designs.
Ongoing assessment via tasks and tutor monitoring
There are no formal entry requirements, although users are expected to be familiar with the basics of computer and internet use.
