Course Overview
Chainsaw Maintenance and Cross Cutting & Felling and Processing Trees up to 380mm.
This course covers regular operator maintenance required for petrol driven chainsaws, including starting procedures, pre-work checks, and cross cutting. The course covers trees whose effective diameter at felling height is between 200mm and 380mm.
• Identification, and inspection of key parts of the chainsaw
• Safe preparation of the chainsaw for work
• Operator maintenance of the saw
• Risk assessment and emergency procedures
• Cross cutting of fallen timber
• Fell trees up to 16 inches (400mm) diameter
• Fell forward leaning and backward leaning trees
• Fell a ‘Hung up tree’
