Course Overview
There are two tiers of entry for this qualification:
Higher Tier – Grades A* - D
Foundation Tier – Grades B - G
This GCSE qualification in Biology offers assessment at foundation and higher tier.
The subject units -
Unit 1: CELLS, ORGAN SYSTEMS and ECOSYSTEMS
Unit 2: VARIATION, HOMEOSTASIS and MICRO-ORGANISMS
Unit 3: PRACTICAL ASSESSMENT
Learning outcomes are assessed through a practical assessment and two exams.

Learners need to have achieved Maths and English GCSE at C or grade 4 or above. Previous GCSE Science or Biology results will also be considered.
Depending upon the grade achieved, learners will be able to progress to other Science qualifications including A levels, BTEC L3 Forensic & Criminal Investigation or Health and Social Care Level 3.
£110 which includes the exam fee. However, under 19s will only pay the £40 exam fee.
