Course Overview

You will develop your skills to prepare you for work or further study in Health and Social Care services. You will study subjects such as equality and diversity, communication skills, anatomy and physiology, health psychology, and lifespan development. The full qualification is equivalent to 3 A Levels.

You will also study the Advanced Welsh Baccalaureate. As part of the course you will attend a work placement to give you practical skills and experience.

Assessment

You will achieve the qualification through completing internally assessed coursework. This could include tasks such as written assignments, reports or presentations.

Entry

Typically you will need 5 or more GCSEs at A*-C

Career Options

Students may progress directly into employment in a range of jobs, including HCA, Physio Aide, Project Worker, Ambulance Technician, etc. They may also progress to H.E. to further their studies in such areas as Social Work, Teaching, Health Promotion, Psychology, Physiotherapy, OT, Midwifery, Nursing, Radiography by accessing a Degree Course.

Students enrolling on this course are required to apply for DBS clearance. A fee will be charged as determined by the DBS.
