Course Overview
Neuro Art, Level 1 is an inclusive and fully supported course providing a learning environment that will best suit YOU. This course is designed to meet the needs and abilities of neurodiverse learners and is a great way to learn more about Art, Design and Media and what it can offer.

Studying a Neuro Art course at Coleg Cambria allows you to explore the elements of art though different media and explore creative industries. It puts you in the best possible place to get the most out of this creative environment and fully exploit your potential.

Neuro Art will give you the right mix of skills to progress your ambitions, ensuring that you get the best overall experience and knowledge to succeed. On the course you will work with expert staff to realise your true potential, as you develop your creative skills. Fully supported, you will also develop social communication, organisational, and life and living skills.

Fully supported in all areas of the course by experienced, specialist support staff, you will have the confidence and ability to explore creative industries, with the option to progress within the college to achieve success in life and work.

On this course a Level 1 UAL qualification in Art, Design and Media will give you the skills you need to succeed, across a range of different units and specialisms. This may include some of the following -

● Researching a Topic
● The Elements of Art
● Digital Drawing
● Digital Animation
● Photography
● Graphic Design

Literacy and numeracy development will be a core focus for all learners on programme with each learner having the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number or re-sit GCSEs in Maths and English.

Learners will be assigned a Progress Coach who will support them throughout their time on programme. They will ensure that any ALN support is put in place before learners start and that any new support needs that may arise are incorporated into their programme to help them to succeed. The course is fully supported to meet individual needs and learning differences.
Ongoing assessment via tasks and tutor monitoring
In order to be eligible for this programme learners must have a social communication difficulty such as Autism.

There are no formal entry requirements, although users are expected to be familiar with the basics of Art, and have a current Learning and Skills Plan, Individual Development Plan or Education, Health and Care Plan which documents a social communication difficulty such as Autism.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
On successful completion of this course learners could progress on to the next level of learning
Progression on to the next level of learning such as those offered in Level 2 Art or Digital Design. Traineeship, Apprenticeship or full time employment.
