Course Overview
The focus of the course is designed to stimulate interest and encourage learners’ understanding of the skills, qualities and knowledge needed across the Tourism sector. The course is suitable for young people and adults wanting to develop the skills required for employment in this sector, developing and practising the skills that employers require.
In completing the course learners will study subjects such as customer service, enterprise and the skills needed to set up a business, how to effectively plan events (corporate, weddings, parties), factors that affect the sector, the importance of managing budgets and effective marketing. In addition, you will also continue to develop your literacy and numeracy.

Learners will achieve the qualification through completing internally assessed coursework. This could include tasks such as information charts, leaflets or written assignments.
4 GCSEs at grade E/2 or above including English Language/Welsh (1st Language) or Maths.
For all learners who are looking to progress onto this L1 course from Foundation Skills – you must have achieved your E3 qualification, progressed in Maths and English/Welsh and hit all of the targets in your ILP.
