The UAL qualification is centered around a range of skill-building units, with a final major project at the end of each year in a chosen area of study being the only graded unit which is internally and externally assessed. You will be assessed on both portfolio/coursework and your practical contribution to productions, projects and events.

This course can lead directly to a career as a Stage Manager, Event Coordinator, Lighting Designer, Sound Designer, Theatre Technician, TV/Film Studio Technician, Festival Crew, Production Manager, Entertainment Operator, Stage Designer, Propmaker, Rigger & numerous related roles.
Students go on to work in event management or in technically specific roles such as: lighting operation and design, as sound engineers or stage managers in theatres and venues both nationally and internationally. Many of our students have gone on to operate their own businesses or work within the touring & equipment hire sectors, providing the technical expertise and skills needed to set up large events such as festivals, fundraisers and large corporate events. Other areas of employment such as cruise ships, holiday venues, escape rooms, museums and theme parks, sporting venues, exhibitions & arenas are all sectors in which the specialist and diverse skill sets gained from a study of Live Events and Theatre Production are valued highly.
