Work Related Experience

This practical and theory based course involves the skills and knowledge needed to do the job, ability to organise work and identify and prevent problems.

Learners who have not achieved grade C/4 in GCSE Mathematics and English will be expected to attend sessions to support this in addition to their vocational programme.
The work is assessed by the following;

1. Short written assignments
2. Practical observation quality checks of products fabricated, made and produced.
4 GCSEs at grade D/3 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language), or successful completion of a relevant Level 1 qualification.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
Students can enter into employment and continue to study on a day release basis or enter into a sponsored Modern Apprenticeship with a participating employer. Those who have also successfully completed the PEO Level 2 could also continue onto a Level 3 programme e.g. BTEC Level 3 Subsidiary & Extended Diploma or onto the Electro-Technical Installation course.

Learners are encouraged to re-sit GCSES, where grades are lower than a C/4.
Some courses may require equipment and/or uniforms to be purchased. Please see attached equipment list for further information.
