The BTEC qualification uses a combination of assessment styles to give you the confidence that you can apply your knowledge to succeed in the workplace, and have the study skills to continue learning on higher education courses. This range of vocational assessments, both practical and written, mean you can showcase your learning and achievements to best effect when you take your next step, whether that’s applications to higher education courses or potential employers.
BTEC use three types of assessment – assignments, tasks and written exams. There are four externally assessed exams/tasks in total, spread across the full 2 years.

5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language) or successful completion of a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Completion of the full 2-year BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma in Computing qualifies for UCAS points, giving students a wide choice of progression options.
