Course Overview

This basic qualification covers the emergencies procedures for dealing with infants and children.

On completion of the training the candidate should be able to:
* Understand the role of a first aider including the importance of recording incidents, use of available equipment and the importance of preventing cross infection.
* Assess the situation and act safely, prompt and effectively
* Deal with an unconscious casualty
* Administer CPR including use of AED
* Deal with a choking casualty
* Deal with wounds, bleeding and shock
* Deal with minor injuries

There is an optional training module for dealing with catastrophic bleeding.

Assessment

Assessment of theory by a multi choice question paper plus practical skills assessments.

Entry

Ideally you should be a nominated workplace first aider or someone seriously interested in completing comprehensive training in first aid.

Career Options

It is strongly recommended that holders of the 1-day course undertake a 3 hour refresher course every twelve months. Candidates can progress to the full 3 day First Aid at Work course.

Cost

£93, this includes all course manuals, course fees and exam fees.
