About the session
This community focused event aims to increase awareness and understanding around knife crime and offensive weapons, the law surrounding them, and the real-life consequences their use can have on individuals, families, and communities.
The session will explore:
What legally counts as an offensive weapon
The laws and penalties relating to possession and use
The wider impact of knife crime and weapon-related incidents
How awareness, education, and early action can help keep people safe
This session is suitable for adults, parents, carers, and anyone with an interest in community safety and crime prevention.
The session will conclude with a practical, hands-on first aid workshop focused on recognising and responding to life-threatening bleeding.
Participants will learn:
How to identify a critical bleed
What immediate actions can save a life before emergency services arrive
How to apply effective bleeding control techniques
This is a hands-on session using first aid mannequins, allowing participants to practise techniques in a safe and supportive environment.
