Course Overview
To provide participants with a foundational understanding of workplace hazards, basic risk assessment principles, and practical steps they can take to ensure their safety and the safety of others, while highlighting the benefits of pursuing full qualifications in health and safety.
What are Workplace Hazards?
Types of Hazards: Discuss the main categories of hazards:
- Physical: Noise, vibration, temperature extremes, radiation, slips, trips, falls
- Chemical: Dusts, fumes, gases, liquids, mists
- Biological: Bacteria, viruses, fungi, mould
- Ergonomic: Poor posture, repetitive motions, heavy lifting
- Psychosocial: Stress, bullying, harassment.
