What You'll Learn
You’ll learn about the biggest challenges facing our planet and explore innovative solutions to protect it. The course is split into two main areas, helping you to understand the environment as a whole system.
* The Physical Environment: You’ll study energy resources, learn how to manage pollution, and develop essential research methods.
* The Living Environment: You’ll explore biological resources, delve into the principles of sustainability, and apply your research skills to real-world scenarios.
You’ll master key skills such as report writing, teamwork, and problem-solving, preparing you for a rewarding career.
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language or Welsh (1st Language) and Mathematics.

Note: GCSE Geography at grade C/4 or above is desirable.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
Throughout the course, you’ll have internal mock examinations to track your progress. At the end of the second year, your final A Level grade is based on two external examinations, each worth 50%.
The environmental sector is a growing industry with a high demand for skilled professionals. You could be involved in field and laboratory work, project planning, and even cutting-edge modelling and coding. There has never been a better time to become an environmental scientist, with new roles being created every year.
