Year 1:
* British History (1880-1980): Explore the significant changes in Welsh and English society, politics, and the profound impact of major wars like the First and Second World Wars . You'll discuss topics of great relevance today, including the evolution of the Welfare State, the social and economic impact of war, fashion, music and popular movements of the 50s,60s and 70s as well as the changing role of women.
* The Weimar Republic (c1918-1933): Investigate the social, economic, and political landscape of Weimar Germany. You'll critically evaluate the rise of Hitler and the Nazi Party, examining their leadership, ideology, and propaganda. Get ready to debate key historical questions like, 'Why did the Nazi Party grow so rapidly?' and 'Was the fall of the Weimar Republic inevitable?'
Year 2:
* The Tudor period (1485-1603): Evaluate the causes and consequences of rebellions, threats and protest on the Tudor monarchy, as well as the economic impact of the period on the poor.
* Nazi Germany (1933-1945): Deepen your understanding of Nazi rule and its impact across Germany and Europe.
* Non-Examined Assessment: Showcase your research and writing skills by completing an extended essay of 3000-4000 words, forming 20% of your A Level grade.
