This course is designed to give you a solid foundation in IT, covering essential skills for your personal and professional growth. You'll study a variety of units, including:

*Developing a Personal Progression Plan: Chart your path to success and set clear goals for your future.
*Working with Others: Learn to collaborate effectively in a team, a crucial skill for any workplace.
*Researching a Topic: Discover how to find and use information effectively, building your research abilities.

You'll also dive into six exciting digital technologies units:

*Solving Technical IT Problems: Learn how to troubleshoot common IT issues, becoming a problem-solving pro.
*Using Digital Communications Technologies: Master the tools for effective online communication.
*Create a Spreadsheet to Solve Problems: Harness the power of spreadsheets You will have the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number. These qualifications will help support your progression to higher levels of learning to analyse data and find solutions.
*Creating a Website: Discover the basics of web design and bring your ideas to life online.
*Creating a Digital Product: Unleash your creativity by designing and developing your own digital products.
*Developing a Digital Animated Graphic: Explore the world of animation and create engaging visual content.

Literacy and Numeracy are key to your success, and we'll focus on developing these skills throughout the programme. You will have the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number. These qualifications will help support your progression to higher levels of learning.

Your Support System
We believe in supporting you every step of the way! You'll be assigned a dedicated Progress Coach who will be there to help you throughout your time on the programme. They will ensure any additional learning needs (ALN) support is in place before you start, and that any new support needs that arise are incorporated into your programme to help you succeed. This course is fully supported to meet your individual needs and learning differences.
4 GCSEs at grade E/2 or above including Maths and English Language/Welsh (1st Language).

For all learners who are looking to progress onto this L1 course from an Entry programme you must have achieved your E3 qualification, progressed in Math and English and hit all of the targets in your ILP.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
You’ll demonstrate your learning through observations, practical work, and written tasks.
Open doors to exciting new opportunities! Upon completion, you’ll be equipped to pursue further learning, such as progressing to Level 2 IT courses. You’ll also be prepared for a JGW+ programme, an apprenticeship, or full-time employment.
