This is a 40 week programme. 35 weeks will be spent in college for up to 30 hours a week on the main qualifications, while the remainder of the course will be a mixture of work experience and industrial visits.

In addition learners are required to complete company work experience placements. The timings of which will be arranged for college half terms.

Our Level 2 Engineering Pre-Apprenticeship (Enhanced) is a comprehensive five-day-a-week programme, designed to give you the practical and theoretical skills you need for a successful career in Craft and Maintenance. You'll gain extensive practical experience, mastering a wide range of mechanical engineering techniques. This course follows the same rigorous path as a Level 2 Apprenticeship, equipping you with the qualifications to enter the industry directly at Level 3 via a Day Release Programme.

You'll earn two highly regarded qualifications, giving you a strong foundation for your engineering career:
City & Guilds Level 2 Certificate/Diploma in Engineering (2850-20)

4 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including Maths, English Language/Welsh (1st Language).

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
Your progress will be continually assessed through college-based assignments, which will be collated as portfolio evidence to meet the requirements of the awarding body.

You’ll also take externally set and marked examinations at key stages throughout the course. We’ll continually assess your Essential Skills throughout the duration of the course too.
