What You'll Learn
This course is designed to immerse you in the world of drama, both on and off stage.

In your first year, you'll:
* Understand and analyse live performances.
* Study set texts in depth.
* Perform a devised piece based on an existing script which you create, and explore costume, lighting, sound and set design. You also examine the role of the director.

In your second year, you'll continue to analyse live performances. You'll also delve into two set texts, examining them through the eyes of a director, performer, and designer.

If you choose the performance element, you'll devise a piece of original drama and perform a set text. If you're more drawn to working behind the scenes, you can opt for the design element, arranging the costume, lighting, sound or stage design for these performances. You'll regularly attend professional theatre performances, gaining valuable insights and inspiration.
5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above including English Language / Welsh (1st Language) and Maths.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
