Course Overview
The Makaton Workshop Level 2 is for those interested in building on knowledge that they previously gained in Level 1 Makaton training.
On completion of the Level 2 Workshop, participants should:
● Know more about the history, design and structure of Makaton and the Makaton Core Vocabulary.
● Be able to use signs and symbols from Stages 3, 4 and the rest of the Additional Vocabulary in their daily environment
and build on the use of techniques for placement, directionality and movement.
● Have further knowledge of the different approaches available to develop the communication skills of a wide range of
Makaton users.
● Be informed about other Makaton Training Courses and Workshops.

Participants must have completed Level 1 Makaton training.
No formal assessment. Feedback will be given throughout the sessions and a certificate of attendance will be awarded at the end of the course.
This course supports learners to develop skills to progress onto further learning opportunities with Coleg Cambria or other providers locally, and/or improve job prospects.
The course is based on skills that individuals are able to transfer to both everyday life and to the workplace. Some of these skills include working with others, working independently, communicating effectively, active listening and problem solving.
