Course Overview

DELIVERY / TUTOR SUPPORT:

This is a taught programme, with tutor support for assignments and assessments. Part-time 4 hours per week. The programme covers:

Mandatory core units:
Organisational Performance and Culture in Practice
Evidence Based practice
Professional Behaviours and Valuing People

Specialist units:
Employment Relationship Management
Talent Management and Workforce Planning
Reward for Performance and Contribution

Plus one additional specialist unit:
Specialist Employment Law

On successful completion of the course, course members will be eligible for Associate Membership of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (AssocCIPD).



This qualification is suitable for individuals who:

Are aspiring to or embarking on a career in strategic people management.
Are working in a people practice role and wish to contribute their knowledge and skills to help shape organisational value.
Are working towards or working in a people management role.

The ideal candidate will therefore typically have responsibility for implementing People Practice policies and strategies and have a need to become more business savvy in developing an organisational insight into the wider business context and environment.

Applicants will be expected to hold a Degree, or educational qualifications at GCSE A level, or the CIPD Foundation Certificate qualification (Level 3). Applications will also be considered for those in a general management role who have responsibilities for strategic people practice policy development.

Applicants are required to have an initial discussion with the course lecturer prior to being accepted to assess suitability for the course. Contact susan.hughes@cambria.ac.uk for further information.
There are no formal examinations.

Each unit will be assessed through the completion of a variety of assessment tasks which include assignments, case studies/scenarios and statistical analysis. Course members will also be expected to assess their own development and maintain a CPD Plan/Learning Log which will be submitted and reviewed.
To support a career progression into a People Practice professional role or similar positions. Qualification progression could be towards CIPD Level 7 Advanced Diploma for full Professional status.
