Course Overview
Housed within the IoT (Internet of Things) suite of technologies, LoRaWAN (Long Range Wide Area Network) is a LPWAN (Low-Power Wide Area Network) networking protocol which allows you to wirelessly connect sensors that can gather data and display on a dashboard, (among other things). Using open source software and utilising unlicensed frequencies, LoRaWAN technologies have a lot of potential advantages for companies looking to reap the benefits of connected systems
On this course you will learn the basics of LoRaWAN networking, sensors and gateways. There will be an initial theory session followed by practical hands-on experience. You will learn how powerful this technology can be, and gain practical skills in setting up a simple sensor and receiving data.
What you will learn
You will study the following topics -
● Introduction to Wireless Sensor Networks
○ LoRa, LoRaWAN, Zigbee, etc.
○ Practical Use of Sensors
● Wireless Sensor Networks
○ LPWAN
○ LoRa
○ LoRaWAN Fundamentals
○ LoRaWAN vs Zigbee, (Sigfox, NB-IOT, Zwave, etc.)
● Working with and Setting up a Basic System
○ The Things Network
○ Wireless Sensors
○ Data Dashboards
○ Wireless Gateways

Course Duration and Delivery
