Course Overview
GCSE Maths is grouped into the following topic areas:
Number
Algebra
Geometry and Measure
Probability and Statistics
The two written papers will comprise some short and some longer questions. Learners
are given opportunities to develop problem solving skills and to generate strategies to
solve problems that are unfamiliar.
This course is an Intermediate Maths exam which will enable you to get up to a B/6
grade, please speak with Student Services if you wish to undertake a Higher GCSE
Mathematics class (A*/9-C/4). For this class you will need to already have at least a
GCSE grade C/4 in Mathematics.

Mathematics is becoming increasingly important for entry into certain Further and Higher education courses. You are strongly advised to identify the Maths requirements for the institution to which you are applying.
