Over 2 years, awarded by LJMU, full time over two days 09:00 – 16:00.This programme will be delivered through a combination of online and face to face sessions to suit your individual needs, subject to us being able to work within the Welsh Government guidance and legislation to ensure the safety of you and our staff. We will also continue to support those with additional learning needs remotely.

Course Overview
Our aim is to provide our students with critical insight into the theory, policy and practices of our criminal justice system. We are committed to providing contemporary, relevant and value adding education which is grounded in research informed teaching,and delivered by subject experts who bring cutting edge knowledge into the classroom. We seek to develop students’ vocational skills and knowledge, equipping them with the attributes that employers value.

Media, Public and Criminal Justice
Personal and academic development in Criminal Justice

Modules Year 2

Injustices in a ‘just’ System
Decision Making in Criminal Justice
Professional Development in Criminal Justice
An Introduction to Penology
Criminal Justice Policy, Practice and the Evidence Base
Criminal Justice Research
Students will be assessed using a variety of methods including formal essay writing, reflective portfolio, case study. Examinations including unseen and online, a book review, presentations to include both individual and group.

One certificate is issued by LJMU upon successful completion of the award.
72 UCAS points
Students who wish to progress may do so by progressing to the top-up year to gain a degree in Criminal Justice at Liverpool John Moores University.

Criminal Justice roles and law enforcement, such as:-

UK Border Force, National Crime Agency, Probation, Youth workers, the Police and British Transport Police. Prison officer.
£7500 per year

Payment of Fees should be made to LJMU.

Some courses may require equipment and / or uniforms to be purchased. Please see the attached equipment list for further information.
