This programme will be delivered through a combination of online and face to face sessions to suit your individual needs, subject to us being able to work within the Welsh Government guidance and legislation to ensure the safety of you and our staff. We will also continue to support those with additional learning needs remotely. Please note that where work placements are not able to be fulfilled for safety reasons we will adapt modules to include work related projects in a way that will still develop your work based skills.

Students will be assessed using a variety of methods including essays, practical observations, portfolios of evidence, research projects and presentations (both individual and group).

One certificate is issued by LJMU upon successful completion of the award.
Conventional candidates should normally be able to demonstrate one of the following qualifications:

A minimum of 88 points at GCE A Level or equivalent
An appropriate BTEC Diploma – Extended Diploma: MMP
An appropriate Access to Higher Education course ‘Diploma of Achievement’.
A pass grade on a relevant level 3 vocational qualification

The College and University encourages wider access and participation in Higher Education and applications are encouraged from those who may not have the necessary points/qualifications. The Programme Leader will discuss the requirement of the course and assess prospective students for their suitability based on a combination of qualifications, experience and motivation.

Mature students (21 years of age or over) without evidence of the above qualifications but with appropriate experience, will be required to demonstrate enthusiasm and aptitude for higher level study.
This fast and dynamic industry expects well trained individuals with a strong work ethic. On completion of the FdA in Tourism and Hospitality you can go onto further study and complete a top up degree in a related field. You will also have the option to go and work in the industry. This course will enable progression into entry management positions, with roles such as Hotel management, Travel consultancy, Restaurant management and Events management

On successful completion of the FdA in Tourism and Hospitality you can go onto further study on the top up year on the BA(Hons) International Tourism Management degree at Liverpool John Moores University or a top up on a related programme.
Course fees £ 7500 per year

Payment of Fees should be made to LJMU.

Travel costs to and from a work placement are to be covered by the student.

Some courses may require equipment and / or uniforms to be purchased. These are outlined on the Equipment List.
