Course Overview
Do you have an interest in Digital Technologies but find the idea of a large college environment challenging? Do you prefer to be taught in small groups with familiar staff and predictable routines? If so, then we have just the course for you.

Our Level 1 Neurotech course is aimed at school leavers with social communication needs such as Autism and provides a fully inclusive and supported course. The environment is small and low sensory and the course offers the structure and routine needed to keep anxieties under control.
Studying a NeuroTech course at Coleg Cambria allows you to work with innovative products and changing technology in the fastest growing sector in the world. It puts you in the best possible place to make the most of this digital environment and fully exploit your potential. (Curriculum)

NeuroTech will offer you the right mix of skills and knowledge to ensure you progress and succeed in line with your aspirations. Supported by experienced staff, you will be working alongside other neurodiverse learners to develop your digital and employability skills. You will also have a personalised programme of learning to develop your social communication, organisational and life skills.
The Pearson BTEC Level 1 qualification in Information Technology will give you essential skills needed to succeed and will include some of the following -

● Being Organised
● Developing a Personal Progression Plan
● Working with Others
● Researching a Topic
● Using Digital Communications Technologies
● Solving Technical IT Problems
● Create a Spreadsheet to Solve Problems
● Creating a Website
● Creating a Digital Product
● Developing a Digital Animated Graphic

Literacy and numeracy development will be a core focus for all learners on programme with each learner having the opportunity to undertake Essential Skills Wales qualifications in Communication and Application of Number or resit GCSEs in Maths and English.
Ongoing assessment via tasks and tutor monitoring.
In order to be eligible for this programme all learners must have a social communication difficulty such as Autism.

There are no formal entry requirements, although users are expected to be familiar with the basics of computer and internet use, and have a current Learning and Skills Plan, Individual Development Plan or Education, Health and Care Plan.

At Coleg Cambria we would encourage you to do the very best that you can in your exams. The better your grades the more options you will have, and may result in you gaining entry onto a higher level course.
On successful completion of this course learners could progress on to the next level of learning.

Progression on to next level of learning such as those offered in Level 2 IT, Traineeship, Apprenticeship or full time employment.
