Exploring Economic behaviour, and Evaluating Economic models constitutes 60% of the course and comprises the two A2 topics. Delivery of the programme is varied and interesting, comprising of lectures, workshops, guest speakers, tutorials as well as trips and conferences designed specifically for AS and A level students.
Throughout the course, the students’ progress is assessed by their tutors in a variety of different ways including essays, case studies, reports, tests and exams. This allows students to check their progress as well as helping to identify and remedy any difficulties.

The AS and A level qualifications are achieved through successful completion of examinations for each unit.

Economics is a good subject to complement social science courses such as Politics and Government, or Science, Maths and Art subjects. It can lead, with Maths and Physics, into Engineering or, with languages, it can provide an excellent basis for those interested in working overseas. Those people interested in careers in finance and accounting will find Economics especially helpful. Many professional bodies, like the Institute of Chartered Accountants require an understanding of economics to qualify in the profession.
Some courses may require equipment and/or uniforms to be purchased. Please see attached equipment list for further information.
