Course Overview

This course allows candidates to learn and develop basic lead welding skills. It covers Health and Safety procedures for working with lead as well as forming basic lead work details and joints using welding equipment tools and material.

● Health & Safety
● Correct setting up and shutting down of the oxy-acetylene equipment.
● The importance of using the correct lead code
● Positional and non-positional welding techniques
● Forming joints, uniformly in order to give a neat finish.

Assessment

No formal assessment, ongoing formative assessment of practical skills and a short test to assess knowledge gained. Everyone completing the course will receive a Coleg Cambria achievement certificate.

Entry

No prior experience or formal qualifications are required to enrol on the course. Anyone working in or intending to work in the construction or roofing industry.

Career Options

The course is an introduction and on completion, participants may wish to continue on courses in roofing or property maintenance.
