Delighted Grace Mead, from Connah’s Quay, received an A* in Psychology, an A in Biology, A in Chemistry and B in Maths.

The 18 year-old is now off to Cardiff University to study Medicine, having spent the last two years at Coleg Cambria Deeside.

“My dream is to be a doctor and work in surgery, that’s what I want to do eventually,” said Grace, a former pupil at Connah’s Quay High School.

“My family are thrilled, and I am excited to spend the next six years there.”

During her two years at Cambria, she also completed work placements with the NHS at Wrexham Maelor Hospital, in the pharmacy and on different wards.

“That was a fantastic experience, as was my time at the college, so I would like to thank all the staff and lecturers for their support,” Grace added.
