We are one of the most experienced and successful centres in Wales to provide the Welsh Baccalaureate Diploma (also known as the Welsh Bac).

The Welsh Bac is an overarching qualification that combines a range of qualifications linked to your main course.

It is welcomed by employers as it gives you additional skills, experience and confidence. The Advanced Bac is also welcomed by many universities across the UK and carries 120 UCAS points.

Units within the Welsh Bac

Wales, Europe and the World

Explore political, social, cultural and technological issues from a Welsh, UK, European and International dimension. Study a modern foreign language for a total of 20 hours. Complete a coursework project on a social, political or cultural issue which interests you.

Essential and Key Skills

Maintain and develop skills in Application of Number, Information Technology, Problem Solving, Communication, Working with Others and Improving Own Learning.

Personal and Social Education

Develop your global citizenship through exploration of ethical, social, moral and sustainability issues and health education. Undertake 15 - 30 hours of community work including fundraising, awareness raising and giving practical help.

Work-related Education

Undertake work experience and a team enterprise project.
