Exams and Assessments

Following the announcement that colleges can continue with scheduled vocational exams, the College is continuing with its programme of scheduled exams.

Who does this message apply to?

This is for ALL Learners and Apprentices due to undertake formal exams or assessments whilst the College is not running as normal. When things change, we’ll let you know.

You can check if this message is relevant to you please click here to view a list of exams and assessments that ARE running.

Students and apprentices who have been notified of the expectation to complete an exam/formal assessment, are invited to attend as previously notified.

Getting to your exam

All College transport is running in accordance with the usual transport timetables to assist students to attend. If using College transport, you are required to wear a face mask at all times and sit socially distanced from any other students travelling on the same bus.

Heard from the College that your exam is cancelled?

We are aware that some students have been contacted and told that their exams have been cancelled.

We apologise for this and would like to confirm that you should disregard any communication you have received linked to exams and follow the guidance given here.

Get recognition for your hard work and gain exam experience and skills

The decision to run exams was taken by the College to give learners an opportunity to sit an exam which they have been preparing for over the past few weeks. Sitting the exam will also give you exam experience and the chance to demonstrate the skills or knowledge you’ve learnt.

Do I have to attend the exam?

Attendance is not compulsory and if you don’t attend then you won’t be disadvantaged.

Not Well?

If you are unwell and/or displaying COVID symptoms or are required to self isolate on the date of your exam/assessment, please do not attend the College, but let your tutor know of the reason for your absence.

Feeling anxious about attending your exam?

We understand that you may be feeling anxious about attending your exam in the current  climate or that you might be in close contact with a loved one who is vulnerable or shielding etc.

Don’t forget, you don’t have to attend this exam if you don’t feel comfortable doing so.

Safety Measures in Place

We are confident that we have all the necessary preventative measures in place to enable students to take examinations safely, and ask that all students attending on site comply with the measures in place. These measures have been reviewed and adapted in light on the new strain of the virus.

Wearing of Face Masks on College Sites

You will have to wear a face mask to be on a college site. This will apply both inside and outside our buildings.

Learners who are exempt from wearing a face mask should wear their yellow lanyard in order to identify this. These are available by contacting studentservices@cambria.ac.uk

We thank you for your continued support and dedication

We appreciate your patience and continued support during this ever-changing and challenging time.
